Day 20 - Readiness Is Spiritual

Scripture: Matthew 25:10 - “But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.”

Opportunity does not create readiness. Preparation does.

The wise virgins were not favored because they were early. They were prepared. They carried oil because they anticipated delay. Readiness is built long before the moment arrives.

Spiritual readiness is formed in daily obedience. It develops through prayer, surrender, and consistency. When opportunity comes, readiness recognizes it.

Ask yourself honestly: What oil am I neglecting to carry? God does not rush preparation. He invites responsibility. Readiness is not emotional excitement. It is sustained devotion. Those who are ready do not scramble when doors open. They enter with peace and confidence.

Reflection: Where do you feel unprepared spiritually?

Prayer: God, help me stay ready. Fill me with what I lack. Teach me to prepare in advance for what You are doing.

Practice:

  • Ask God what oil you still need. Commit to cultivating it intentionally.

Preparation determines access. Readiness determines response.
